Crossbreeding of the first sevillana flamenca

CRUCE DE LA PRIMERA SEVILLANA FLAMENCA

Sevillanas Crosses

The crosses in the sevillanas are the markings that serve, as the name suggests, to cross with the partner on the opposite side. We will distinguish 4 types of crosses, each one specific to each of the 4 sevillanas. The basic crossing is the only one that will be repeated in all the sevillanas and also serves to divide each sevillana in 3 thirds.

Crossing of the first Sevillana Flamenca

We will call it basic cruce or cruce de torero, because of the way the lower arm is placed, as if we were carrying a cape in our hands. It fulfills the same function and is executed in the same moments of the Sevillanas Clásicas, with the same braceo, but with a simpler execution of feet, which coincides with that of the marking of the flamenco paseíllo (which you can also adapt and dance it to the rhythm of bulerías).

In addition, the foot percussions of this crossover fully match the accents of the flamenco sevillanas compás, which will help you much more to understand and apply the sevillanas compás in general. By mastering the Flamenco Paseíllo and the Basic Sevillanas Flamencas Crossing of the Flamencoson Method, you will master almost 25% of the Sevillanas Flamencas.
