Crossing of the fourth sevillana flamenca

CRUCE DE CAREO DE LA CUARTA SEVILLANA FLAMENCA

Sevillanas Crosses

“The crosses in the sevillanas are the markings that serve, as its name indicates, to cross with the partner on the opposite side. We will distinguish 4 types of crosses, each one specific to each of the 4 sevillanas. The basic crossing is the only one that will be repeated in all the sevillanas and also serves to divide each sevillana into 3 thirds.”

Fourth Sevillana Flamenca Crossing

“It is called cruce de careo, because you cross face to face, or face to face, with your dance partner. In the case of the fourth Sevillana Flamenca, the Flamencoson Method has simplified the markings of each sung line, so that they coincide with the footwork of this type of crossing. This will make it much easier for you to learn the cuarta sevillana, and the only small difficulty it presents is alternating between the basic cruce and the cruce de careo, for the different moments in which we will cross with our dance partner. The good news is that the foot marking of the “cruce de careo”, which we will call “Vals” marking because of its similarity, will also help you to adapt it and dance it to the “bulerías” rhythm.”
